Description: There is nothing better than stretching your hiking muscles and trekking the trails at Starved Rock State Park on National Trails Day! Bring the family out to enjoy the canyons, overlooks, and canyon waterfalls along the trails and stop in at the Starved Rock Visitor Center between 9 a.m. and Noon to grab a fun “take along” activity on the trails, learn how you can help the park out while enjoying your hike, take a photo with Smoky the Bear and his friend Sadie the Starved Rock Eagle, and try your hand at a few nature themed games in our Eagle’s Roost Cabin. Several organizations will be on hand with outdoor information, activities, and more including the IDNR, Conservation Police, US Army Corps of Engineers, Sierra Club, Canal Corridor Association, and the Starved Rock Lodge.
